Turf Trust®
Professional Lawn Fertilizer
Turf Trust® Professional Lawn Fertilizer is designed for the consumer who
expects only the best.
Turf Trust is a revolutionary lawn fertilizer. It is the only
fertilizer to contain the compound CDU®. CDU stands for Crotonylidene
Diurea and is imported from Japan. In Japan, it is the preferred nitrogen
source in golf course fertilizers.
While slowly released through hydrolysis, it's mineralization rate is faster
than that of other organic or inorganic fertilizers used on turfgrass.
Although it has a high mineralization rate, Turf Trust still contains over
40% WIN (Water Insoluble Nitrogen). This means the lawn will be fed slowly
and gently, minimizing the potential for waste through runoff.
Why is that important? Longer feeding equates to longer greening and
healthier grass plants. A plant that feeds longer will have more energy.
At the recommended rate, Turf Trust avoids quick uncontrolled growth and
reduces mowing.
In addition to CDU, Turf Trust contains additional nitrogen sources, six
in all. This creates the CDU+ effect. The CDU+ effect is known as
continuous extended release. This release pattern will feed your lawn from
the moment the fertilizer is activated by water and will continue feeding
for 12 to 14 weeks.
The CDU will help to control soil borne pathogens that cause Fusarium
Blight, Pythium and Brown Patch. This means less disease problems in the
summer.
Turf Trust is formulated with the environment in mind. It has a low level
of Phosphate (2%) to reduce the risk of runoff into the watershed.
Turf Trust has the recommended amount of Potassium for root development and
cell wall thickening. Thicker cell walls equate to plants that are more wear
tolerant and incur fewer stress related problems.
Turf Trust contains the most complete list of secondary nutrients and
micronutrients available to the homeowner. The secondary nutrients are:
Calcium, Magnesium, and Sulfur.
The micronutrient package consists of Manganese, Iron, Copper, Boron, Zinc,
and Molybdenum. Together these nutrients will produce the most complete
feeding that the home lawn can receive.
One bag of Turf Trust weighs 20.83 lbs. and covers 5000 sq. ft. Each
feeding delivers 1.0# of nitrogen (N) per 1000 sq. ft.
For year-round maximum turfgrass performance, three applications of Turf
Trust Lawn Food are advised. Apply in spring when the soil and grass are not
frozen to improve efficiency and prevent runoff. Apply again in early
September, with a final application in the first week of November.
Application:
1. Mow lawn.
2. A rotary spreader is recommended since it produces better results than a
drop spreader.
3. Tumble the bag a few times to insure proper distribution of granules.
4. Treat the border of the lawn first. then the balance with minimal
overlap.
5. Always shut off spreader when turning.
6. Any granules left on sidewalk or driveways should be swept into the lawn.
Turf Trust contains Iron which is essential to grass, however it could
potentially leave undesirable stains.
7. An unused portion of Turf Trust can be stored in a cool dry place in the
tightly closed original bag.
Frequently Asked Questions
My spreader is not listed on the bag. How do I know what to set my spreader
to?
Due to the fact that there many different spreaders available on the market
we are unable to list them all. As a general guideline, the opening in the
bottom of the spreader should be slightly more than 3/8". On most spreaders,
this would be 1 setting below halfway open. Please note that the product
distribution rate is dependent on walking speed. Turf Trust is designed to
be applied a normal walking pace.
I forgot to sweep off my sidewalk after I applied Turf Trust and now my
sidewalk is stained with rust spots. What should I do?
The staining is caused by the Iron that is in the Turf Trust. Iron is an
important secondary nutrient for the health and color of your lawn. In the
event that the Iron causes unsightly staining it can be removed by using
Iron Out®. Iron Out is commonly found in the cleaning products section of
your local supermarket or hardware store.
